As of tomorrow, 1 November, the new Aged Care Act comes into effect – marking one of the most significant reforms the sector has seen in decades. The Act strengthens Quality Standards, enhances accountability, and places a renewed focus on the rights and wellbeing of older Australians.
Alongside these legislative changes, the Support at Home program represents another major reform – reshaping how in-home aged care will be funded, delivered and managed. While implementation will take place progressively, the program marks a substantial shift for providers, with new expectations around care planning, reporting and service flexibility.
At Health Metrics, we’re proud to have partnered closely with our customers throughout this journey. The eCase platform is Aged Care Act and Support at Home ready, providing the functionality, reporting and compliance tools providers need to operate confidently in this new environment.
We also recognise that the transition doesn’t end here – as providers begin to embed new processes, our team will continue working alongside them and progress the next stage of enhancements to support ongoing quality, efficiency and continuous improvement – while maintaining focus on delivering safe, person-centred care.
We sincerely thank our customers for their collaboration, insight and partnership in preparing for these reforms. As the sector transitions, our team will continue to provide guidance, updates and support in the weeks ahead – helping providers adapt to change with confidence and continuity.
